Why Google avoidst Memorial Day promotion
by "Jerry" May 31, 2006
I wrote Google as to why there was no Veteran's day logo, graphics, on the Google homepage such as for other lesser holidays. They emailed me back giving the lame excuse that they didn't want to step on the toes of other's, not in this country, since they operate internationally. Since they said they only liked to express "lightheartedness" in their logo's they felt they should refrain from honoring the American Veterans for their service to this country, and would rather roll-over to the whims of the growing anti-American sentiment that seems to be growing, internationally, especially with huge conglomerates such as Google. I basically told them they need to pick-up and go to another country and see how far they get financially. I also told them I was a Vietnam Vet and this is the same type of mentality I've been fighting for over 35 years. To honor the Veteran doesn't necessarily mean you have to agree with the current administration or politics. It is simply a day to honor and remember ALL those who fought and died for freedom, and to celebrate and honor all those who are still with us and currently serving this nation, and give them the thanks they deserve. Google needs to remember what country their success came from and just as fast as you make it big in this country you can go down the drain by allying youself against America, its people and especially its Veterans.
